Blasting Operations to Close Jefferson City Roadways Beginning Wednesday

JEFFERSON CITY – Major routes surrounding the old St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City will have traffic stopped twice per day over the next several weeks.

Beginning Wednesday, June 4, construction crews working on the former site of the hospital will be conducting blasting operations at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Blasting will continue at these times Monday through Friday over the next three weeks.

As a safety precaution, traffic on U.S. Route 50 and Missouri Boulevard will be stopped in all directions for short periods while blasts are set off. Delays are not expected to last more than 10 minutes.

Message boards are in place alerting motorists to the ongoing blasting schedule.
