JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is conducting paving and guardrail work along Interstate 70 at Lee’s Summit Rd. and the I-70 and Route 291/I-470 interchange. The work begins at 8 p.m. TONGHT, Thursday, June 6, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning. This work will have significant ramp CLOSURES including:
- The CLOSURE of the directional ramp from southbound Route 291/I-470 to westbound I-70.
- The CLOSURE of the directional ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound Route 291/I-470.
- The CLOSURE of ALL RAMPS TO AND FROM Lee’s Summit Rd. to I-70 which includes:
- The ramp from Lee’s Summit Rd. to westbound I-70.
- The ramp from eastbound I-70 to Lee’s Summit Rd.
- The ramp from westbound I-70 to Lee’s Summit Rd.
- The ramp from Lee’s Summit Rd. to eastbound I-70.
The closures are part of a paving project along I-70 between Blue Ridge Cutoff and Route 291 that began in April and is expected to be complete in July. Motorists MUST find alternate routes during this time. All work is weather permitting.
