MoDOT to close westbound I-70 at Adelaide June 7-10 for bridge repair

Adelaide over interstate to remain closed until June 12

ST. LOUIS – Drivers using I-70 to head out of the city of St. Louis June 7-10 may want to consider alternate routes as crews will close the westbound interstate to make repairs to the Adelaide bridge over the interstate.

In addition, those who use Adelaide over I-70 as a part of their daily commute will need to determine alternate routes, as the bridge over interstate will be closed June 7-12 as part of the repairs.

This work is to complete repairs needed after a truck struck the overpass in May 2018.

Crews will close westbound I-70 at Adelaide at 8 p.m. Friday, June 7. One lane of interstate traffic will detour up and over the ramps at Adelaide during the closure. Additionally, the eastbound express lanes will be closed at 8 p.m. Friday, June 7. All I-70 lanes will reopen before the Blues game ends on Sunday, June 9.

Adelaide will close between the eastbound ramps and Hall Street starting at 8 p.m. Friday, June 7. All lanes on Adelaide, including those currently closed for safety, will reopen by morning rush on Wednesday, June 12. Detours around the Adelaide closure will be marked.
