Ramp CLOSURES at I-70, Lee's Summit Rd., and Noland Rd. This Weekend

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is conducting paving and guardrail work along Interstate 70 at Lee’s Summit Rd. and Noland Rd. The work begins at 8 p.m. TONGHT, Friday, June 7, until Sunday, June 9, at 8 a.m. All work is weather permitting.

  • Friday, June 7
    • Crews will close ALL RAMPS to and from Noland Rd. along I-70. Ramps will be re-opened as allowed. Work will begin at 8 p.m., and last until approximately 8 a.m. the next morning.
    • There will be a moving operation along westbound and eastbound I-70 from Route 291 to Blue Ridge Cutoff from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. This is for installing rumble strips.
  • Saturday, June 8
    • There will be single lane closures along both directions of Lee’s Summit Rd. beginning at 7 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m.
    • Additionally, there will be single lane closures along both directions of Noland Rd. and ramp work at Lee’s Summit Rd. beginning at 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next morning. During this time, the following ramps will be closed:
      • The ramp from Lee’s Summit Rd. to westbound I-70.
      • The ramp from eastbound I-70 to Lee’s Summit Rd.
      • The ramp from Lee’s Summit Rd. to eastbound I-70.


The closures are part of a paving project along I-70 between Blue Ridge Cutoff and Route 291 that began in April and is expected to be complete in July. Motorists MUST find alternate routes during this time.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
