JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is conducting paving work along Interstate 70 at U.S. Highway 40, Noland Rd., Blue Ridge Blvd., and Route 291/I-470 that involves various ramp closures. The work is scheduled for both TONGHT, Monday, June 10, and Tuesday, June 11 from 8 p.m. each evening to 5 a.m. the following mornings. All work is weather permitting.
- Monday, June 10
- Beginning at 8 p.m., until 5 a.m. the following morning, the following ramps will be closed:
- The ramp from Noland Rd. to westbound I-70.
- The ramp from westbound I-70 to U.S. Highway 40.
- The ramp from Blue Ridge Blvd. to U.S. Highway 40.
- The ramp from U.S. Highway 40 to eastbound I-70.
- The ramp from Blue Ridge Blvd. to eastbound I-70.
- Also starting at 8 p.m., there will be a moving operation to install rumble strips starting on the inside lanes of both eastbound and westbound I-70. This work will wrap up at approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Beginning at 8 p.m., until 5 a.m. the following morning, the following ramps will be closed:
- Tuesday, June 11
- Beginning at 8 p.m. until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning, the following ramps will be closed:
- The ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound Route 291/I-470.
- ALL of the loop ramps at the I-70/Route 291 interchange will be CLOSED for paving work. Only two ramps will be closed at a time but the schedule will vary. Motorists MUST find alternate routes. These ramps include:
- The ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound Route 291/I-470.
- The ramp from northbound Route 291/I-470 to westbound I-70.
- The ramp from eastbound I-70 to northbound Route 291/I-470.
- The ramp from southbound Route 291/I-470 to eastbound I-70.
- Beginning at 8 p.m. until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning, the following ramps will be closed:
The closures are part of a paving project along I-70 between Blue Ridge Cutoff and Route 291 that began in April and is expected to be complete in July. Motorists MUST find alternate routes during this time.

Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
