Resurfacing Project for Emergency Repairs Awarded for Missouri Route 15 in Audrain County

HANNIBAL – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded a resurfacing contract for repairs on Missouri Route 15 located 1.6 miles north of Mexico in Audrain County. Christensen Construction Co. of Columbia, Missouri submitted the winning bid in the amount of $140,598.23.

The total length of the project will be one third mile and consist of milling and resurfacing work to repair damages as a result of a gas line explosion on March 3, 2019.  “While the start date has not been determined, the contractor will have 15 days to complete the project once work begins with a contract completion date of September 1, 2019. We appreciate the cooperation of the traveling public by reducing speeds on this route until repairs can be completed.” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer, Brian Untiedt.

MoDOT is working with Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Co. to recoup the cost of responding to and repairing the damage caused by the explosion.

MoDOT will alert the public about updates on the projects through signs, news releases and social media.  For more information, contact MoDOT's Customer Service Center at 1-888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636). You can also visit us online at www.modot.mo.gov/northeast.
