Chip Seal Projects Set to Begin for Lincoln County Route H and Lincoln County Route E

MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, June 17, a chip seal project is set to begin on Lincoln County Route H, from Route E to Missouri Route 47. The contractor has 30 calendar days to complete this section of road. Once that project is complete, crews will move to Lincoln County Route E to chip seal from Lincoln County Route UU to U.S. Route 61. They also will have 30 calendar days to complete this project.

“Crews will be applying liquid asphalt that helps seal off any cracks that may be in the road, and will then will apply small aggregate rock,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Erik Maninga. “This treatment helps extend the life of the routes,” he added.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zones while the work is completed. A pilot vehicle will be leading traffic through the work zone, so please slow down and pay attention. Put down your cell phone to help eliminate distractions.

Missouri Petroleum Products, Co. of St. Louis, Missouri, was awarded the contracts in the amount of $483,361.
