JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have multiple lanes and ramps closed along westbound Interstate 70 in the vicinity of Manchester Trafficway beginning TODAY at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 14, until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, June 17. Crews will be making urgent repairs to a segment of the expansion joint.
This work will have significant impacts to traffic and could impact travelers attending Monster Jam at Arrowhead Stadium. If you are traveling to the stadiums via westbound I-70, an alternate route would be to exit westbound I-70 at U.S. Highway 40.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, leave early, and find an alternate route if necessary. These repairs are urgent so drivers are reminded to be patient, attentive, and to put their phones down. For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE.
All work is weather permitting.
- This work will reduce westbound I-70 at Manchester Trafficway to ONE LANE on the left side of the interstate.
- Additionally, crews will CLOSE BOTH the northbound and southbound I-435 ramps to westbound I-70.
- The ramp from southbound I-435 to U.S. Highway 40 will remain open. It will close just before the exit to westbound I-70.
- The detour route in place for the I-435 and I-70 interchange project will remain open. This is the ramp from westbound I-70 to Manchester Trafficway.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
