Where: I-44 / U.S. Route 71 / Missouri Route 59 Lane Closures at Fidelity Interchange
When: Monday, July 20, until Friday, July 24
What: Contractor crews will close lanes on I‑44, U.S. Route 71, and Missouri Route 59 at the Fidelity interchange to collect core samples as part of the upcoming Forward 44 project. Crews will begin work on July 13, but traffic impacts, such as lane closures, will not begin until July 20.
This work is part of a larger effort to study and bring improvements to I-44. For the latest on work happening along the corridor, visit the Forward 44 website: Forward 44 | Missouri Department of Transportation.
Traffic Impacts:
- I-44 / U.S. Route 71 / Missouri Route 59 lane Closures at the Fidelity interchange, July 20-24
- Crew and equipment close to traffic
- No signed detours; drivers are urged to find alternate routes
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers to work zones and inform the public when there are reduced speeds and traffic delays
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closures/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
