MoDot to close three intersections on Route 61 next week as part of Safety Improvement Project

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – Drivers on Route 61 should expect delays due to upcoming closures of three intersections on Route 61 approximately one-day each from June 24 until June 28 to widen existing shoulders.

As part of MoDOT’s Safety Design-Build Project, crews will be widening shoulders on Route 61 at McHugh Rd., North Point Prairie, and Route W. Each intersection is scheduled to be close for about a day between 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. All work is weather permitting.

While one intersection is closed, the others will remain open so that drivers can detour to the next closest intersection. The work is scheduled to start at McHugh Rd., move to North Point Prairie, and end at Route W.

The additional pavement will help larger vehicles turn more safely and smoothly.
