Bates & Henry Counties – Drivers should watch for contractor crews making sidewalk and pavement improvements at various locations in Bates and Henry counties beginning the week of June 15 the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will make improvements that include making curb ramps, landings, crosswalks and pavement markings conform to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Here is a look at the locations and the work being done:
- Henry County
- Route J (Maple Street) between Missouri Route 52 and West 1st Street in Calhoun
- Removing existing asphalt surface and replacing it with a new one
- Replacing existing sidewalks with new sidewalks conforming to Americans with Disabilities Act standards
- Route V (College Street) at Calhoun R-8 Elementary School
- Put down permanent pavement markings at crosswalk
- Bates County
- Missouri Route 18 at intersection of 1st Street and Old Highway 71 in Adrian
- Replacing section of existing sidewalk with new sidewalk conforming to Americans with Disabilities Act standards
- Missouri Route 52 (Ft. Scott Street) at intersection with Fran Avenue in Butler
- Install pedestrian buttons and place permanent pavement markings at crosswalks
- Loop 49 (Orange Street) at Ohio Street in Butler
- Bring permanent pavement striping at crosswalks up to Americans with Disabilities Act standards
- Loop 49 (Orange Street) at Pine Street in Butler
- Bring permanent pavement striping at crosswalks up to Americans with Disabilities Act standards
- Missouri Route 18 at intersection of 1st Street and Old Highway 71 in Adrian
- Route J (Maple Street) between Missouri Route 52 and West 1st Street in Calhoun
Traffic Impacts:
- Drivers are urged to use caution and be aware of crews and equipment working close to traffic
- Work will be done during daytime hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday)
- Drivers may encounter occasional lane closures and flaggers in areas where crews are working
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zones
- No signed detours
- Drivers should find alternate routes around work zones
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
