CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will intermittently close various lanes of northbound and southbound I-35 beneath Route 152 for setting girders and deck panels. The closures will happen nightly between 7:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning. All work is weather dependent.
- Crews will close one lane of southbound I-35 Friday, July 12
- Crews will close one lane of southbound I-35 Saturday, July 13
- Crews will close one lane of northbound I-35 Saturday, July 13
- Crews will close various lanes of northbound and southbound I-35 Monday, July 15 through Wednesday, July 17 for remaining deck panel and overhang work.
The is all part of a project to replace the Route 152 Bridge over I-35, make improvements to Kansas Street and Route 291; including adding wider lanes and additional turn lanes. It will also address bicycle and pedestrian needs along the corridor, and a multiple-use path along the south side of Route 152 and Kansas Street. The project is expected to be completed in 2020. This project is in partnership with the Cities of Liberty and Kansas City. All work is weather dependent.
