JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will CLOSE the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70/Lewis and Clark Viaduct Bridge over the Kansas River beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 12, until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15. Motorists traveling that direction will not be able to access eastbound I-70 over the Kansas River and will be directed to the off ramp to 3rd Street, Armstrong Ave., and Fairfax Trafficway. This closure is for bridge maintenance work and will have impacts on traffic. Motorists will need to detour via I-670 or find an alternate route.
Travelers are reminded that the westbound lanes of the I-70/Lewis and Clark Viaduct are also currently closed for a Kansas Dept. of Transportation bridge reconstruction project. All work is weather permitting.
