OSAGE COUNTY – As part of the ongoing U.S. Route 63/Missouri Route 133 intersection improvements project, Route 133 will close late next week. This closure will allow grading and pavement work to take place to tie in the new intersection to the existing roadway.
Work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 26 and is expected to be completed in a week. Route 133, located north of Westphalia in Osage County, will be closed to traffic while work takes place. Message boards are up in the area to inform drivers of the road closure. The signed detour route around the construction is Route 63 and Missouri Route 42.
The Route 63/Route 133 intersection improvements project will be completed this fall. This project will improve intersection sight distance, add right-turn and left-turn lanes from Route 63 onto Route 133, as well as a left turn lane from Route 63 onto Main Street, increasing the safety of motorists.
All work is weather permitting. The Missouri Department of Transportation appreciates the patience of motorists as work takes place.
