MOUND CITY, Mo. – A new, smoother surface is coming to Interstate 29 in Holt County. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted Herzog Contracting Corporation to resurface I-29 between Route 118 and U.S. Route 59 in Holt County.
The contractor plans to mill and resurface the southbound lanes first, beginning tomorrow, July 17. They will begin at Route 118 in Mound City and proceed south to U.S. Route 59 near exit 67, the south Oregon exit. I-29 will be reduced to one lane around the work.
When the southbound driving lane is complete, they will move to the northbound driving lane. Then they’ll repeat the pattern with the passing lanes and shoulders. By contract, all work must be completed before Oct. 1, 2019.
All scheduled roadwork is weather permitting and subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
