JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close one lane of southbound Route 9 over the Missouri River (Heart of America Bridge) from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily, beginning Monday, July 22 and continuing through Tuesday, July 23 for bridge maintenance work. Crews will then close one lane of northbound Route 9 over the Missouri River during the same time period, beginning Wednesday, July 24 and continuing through Friday, July 26. This work will have an impact to traffic, so please plan ahead. All work is weather dependent.
*Note: All work will be performed underneath the bridge, so no workers will be present.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
