Updated Schedule: I-70 and I-435 Interchange Construction Continues

Additional Overnight Closures

JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will continue construction at the I-435 and I-70 interchange this week. This works involves various lane and ramp CLOSURES and will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • The right lane of northbound I-435 from Raytown Rd. to Stadium Drive will be CLOSED for guardrail work and overhead truss work on Tuesday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • NEW: Additionally, this lane will be CLOSED OVERNIGHT on Thursday, July 25, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • The left lane of the exit ramp from northbound I-435 to Stadium Drive will be CLOSED for guardrail work and overhead truss work on Tuesday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The left lane of northbound I-435 from Raytown Rd. to Stadium Drive will be CLOSED for guardrail and overhead truss work beginning Wednesday, July 24, through Friday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
  • The left lane of westbound I-70 from Stadium Drive to I-435 will be CLOSED for bridge construction beginning Monday, July 22, through Wednesday, July 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
  • The right lane of southbound I-435 from U.S. Highway 40 to Stadium Drive will be CLOSED for bridge girder replacement OVERNIGHT on Wednesday, July 24, through Friday, July 26, from 7 p.m. each evening until 5 a.m. the following mornings.
  • The exit ramps from southbound I-435 to westbound I-70, as well as southbound I-435 to U.S. Highway 40 will be CLOSED for pavement marking reconfiguration OVERNIGHT on Thursday, July 25 Wednesday, July 24, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
    • This includes a right lane CLOSURE along southbound I-435 from just south of 23rd Street to U.S. Highway 40.
  • The exit ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435 will be CLOSED for pavement marking reconfiguration OVERNIGHT on Thursday, July 25, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • NEW: The exit ramp from northbound I-435 to eastbound I-70 will be CLOSED temporary barrier placement OVERNIGHT on Wednesday, July 24 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
