Washington County Route W scheduled to close early June

Ashley Branch Bridge rehabilitation project begins June 1

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The project to replace the bridge deck (driving surface) on the Washington County Route W bridge over Ashley Branch, southeast of Bourbon, is scheduled to begin in early June. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Louis-CompanyLLC to complete the project. Route W is expected to close to all traffic at the bridge on MondayJune 1, and remain closed around-the-clock through the end of JulyDuring the closure, motorists will need to use an alternate route. 

Built in 1963, the supporting structures are in good condition, but the driving surface is nearing the end of its useful life and is in need of replacement. The new driving surface will be 24 feet wide, the same as the current structureFor more information, or to sign up for project-specific updates, visit the project’s webpage at www.modot.org/projects/route-w-bridge-deck-replacement-over-ashley-branch-washington-county.
