OSAGE COUNTY – The Missouri Route 133 week-long closure scheduled to begin this Friday has been rescheduled to begin Saturday, July 27.
This closure is part of the ongoing U.S. Route 63/Missouri Route 133 intersection improvements project near Westphalia. The closure of Route 133 will allow grading and pavement work to take place to tie in the new intersection to the existing roadway.
Message boards are up in the area to inform drivers of the road closure. The signed detour route around the construction is Route 63 and Missouri Route 42.
The intersection improvements project is scheduled to be completed this fall. This project will improve intersection sight distance, add right-turn and left-turn lanes from Route 63 onto Route 133, as well as a left turn lane from Route 63 onto Main Street, increasing safety for motorists.
All work is weather permitting and the schedule is subject to change. The Missouri Department of Transportation appreciates the patience of motorists as work takes place.
