ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Bridge joint repairs continue at or near the intersection of U.S. Route 36, Interstate 229 and Route 759 in St. Joseph. Crews from Capital Paving and Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, are improving conditions at several ramps in the area. The next phase of the project will see both the ramps from U.S. Route 36 east and westbound to I-229 close. Any motorists needing to go south from U.S. Route 36 are advised to use I-29.
Below is a summary of the schedule of work for this important project. As always, planned work is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
CURRENTLY:
- NOW through August 27: Ramp CLOSED from U.S. Route 36 westbound to I-229 southbound
- NOW through August 27: Ramp CLOSED from I-229 northbound to U.S. Route 36 (both directions)
- NOW through August 16: Lanes of 6th Street under U.S. Route 36 are narrowed to 11-feet wide. Intermittently, 6th Street from Hickory to Monterrey could close between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. so the work above may be completed safely.
