Smoother roads coming to various routes in Camden and Miller counties

Crews to begin guardrail work then resurfacing starting next week

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A guardrail and resurfacing project spanning multiple routes in Camden and Miller counties is set to begin next week. Motorists should slow down, use extra caution, and follow all posted signs as crews direct traffic through work zones.

On May 18, construction crews from Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to start guardrail work on Camden County Route KK, followed by Camden County Route MM. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, the roadways will be reduced to one lane, with flaggers directing traffic through the work zones.

Next, crews will move to U.S. Route 54, starting west of Camdenton and progressing east. One lane will be closed in each direction, as needed.

No work is expected to take place May 22 through May 25 for the holiday weekend. Resurfacing is scheduled to begin in mid-June, subject to change.

Motorists should exercise caution, eliminate distractions, and slow down through the single-lane work zones.

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones.
