Barton & Dade Counties – Drivers will encounter reduced lanes and traffic delays when a project to resurface U.S. Route 160 in Barton and Dade counties resumes the week of May 18, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
This work was originally scheduled to be completed last winter but was delayed when additional rehabilitation work was identified after the start of the project.
Work will be done at these locations on U.S. Route 160:
- Between I-49 and Mill Street in Lamar
- Between Missouri Route 97 (Main Street) in Lockwood and Missouri Route 39 south of Greenfield
Traffic impacts:

- Drivers will encounter flaggers controlling traffic through the work zones
- Drivers will have access to all drive ways and entrances
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
- No signed detours
- Drivers are urged to find alternate routes during the project
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
