Springfield – Those interested in the Greene County Route J Culvert Replacement Project east of Springfield are invited to view the proposed improvements and project information via a virtual (online) public meeting from Monday, May 18, until Monday, June 1, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Starting May 18, the virtual public meeting can be accessed here to learn about the project, ask questions, and leave comments: http://www.modot.org/southwest
Comments on this project can be mailed in, emailed, or submitted online through the project website until Monday, June 1. For those unable to access the online meeting, contact MoDOT’s Southwest District Office at 417.895.7600, and accommodations will be made to share the information.
Project highlights:
- Replace Greene County Route J box culvert over Turner Creek east of Springfield
- Replace Greene County Route J box culvert over Kinser Branch east of Springfield
- New roadway approaches will include 2-foot shoulders and improved sight distance
Traffic Impacts:
- Route J CLOSED at Turner Creek for up to 5 months
- Route J CLOSED at Kinser Branch for up to 3 months
- Culverts will not be closed simultaneously
- Access from Route J to Farm Road 150 will be temporarily restricted as crews work on the change of grade at the Turner Creek crossing
- Signed detour includes: Missouri Route 125 & U.S. Route 65
Estimated Total Construction Cost: $2.6 million
