St. Joseph, Mo. – Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the Nodaway County Route U crossover between the north- and southbound lanes of U.S. Route 71 for a median/crossover improvement project beginning Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 22. Crews will be removing the median islands and relocating signage to improve movement through the intersection. The Route U crossover will remain closed until all roadwork is complete and signage is reinstalled.
Traffic Impacts: The Route U crossover at Route 71 will be closed around the clock May 11-22. Route 71 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions at Route U around the clock. Motorists should seek an alternate route.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
