Upcoming Rehab for Route 76 Bridge over Indian Creek in Douglas County

Notice of Opportunity for Public Meeting

SIKESTON—The Missouri Department of Transportation is planning to rehabilitate the Route 76 bridge over Indian Creek in Douglas County. The bridge is located approximately 9.3 miles west of U.S. Route 60 near Willow Springs, Missouri.

The rehabilitation work could begin as early as March 2027 and includes replacing the deck and girders. During construction, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge for approximately three months. A signed detour will be in place utilizing Route 181 North, Route AM, U.S. 60 and Route 76.

Maps, plans, and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation, or interested agency, will be available for public inspection and copying at the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Regional Office, 3956 E Main St., Willow Springs, Missouri 65793.

Any person affected by this project may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public meeting shall be in writing and must be submitted to District Engineer Donnie Brown at 2675 North Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Thursday, May 7, 2026.
