Moniteau County Route CC to close at South Moreau Creek next week

Bridge deck replacement project set to begin Monday and continue into early July

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – Moniteau County Route CC, north of Eldon, is set to close next week to replace the deck (driving surface) of the South Moreau Creek Bridge.

Construction crews, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will close the bridge to all traffic beginning the morning of April 20, and it will remain closed through early July. A signed detour will direct motorists via Miller and Moniteau County Route OO, Morgan County Route AA, and Morgan and Moniteau County Route C.

Built in 1966, the supporting structures of the bridge are in good condition. The driving surface, however, has deteriorated, is in poor condition, and needs to be replaced. In addition to a new bridge deck, which will be the same width as the existing structure, crews will install new concrete barriers and place new guardrails at the bridge ends.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

As part of their February 2026 meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $1,243,685.50 contract to Gene Haile Excavating, Inc. for this project and work on the Morgan County Route W bridge over Indian Creek which is tentatively set for late summer.
