Lane Reductions Scheduled on U.S. Route 36 for Resurfacing Work in Macon County

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, as early as March 17, traffic on U.S. Route 36 will be reduced to one lane for resurfacing work at the following locations near Macon:

  • U.S. 36 (eastbound) - 0.5 mile west of Routes C/O in Bevier to 0.1 mile east of Kellogg Avenue at Macon
  • U.S. 36 (westbound) - 0.1 mile east of Kellogg Avenue at Macon to 1.7 miles west of Routes C/O in Bevier

A 10-foot width restriction in place at the location where crews are actively working. Signs, including message boards, will be utilized for traffic control and alerts such as schedule changes. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

The $8.1M contract was awarded last year to Magruder Paving, LLC of Troy, Missouri. All work is scheduled to be completed by October 1, 2026.
