ADA work, resurfacing project in Daviess, Caldwell counties to begin March 16

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted Herzog Contracting Corp. to make Americans with Disabilities Act improvements and resurface a portion of Missouri Route 13 between Gallatin and Hamilton. The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16. with ADA improvements in Hamilton.

The ADA improvement includes constructing curb ramps, sidewalk transitions, crosswalks and striped parking along Route 13 between Samuel Street and School Street, and in Gallatin on Route 13 between Berry Street and Van Buren Street. The ADA improvements are scheduled to be completed by mid-April 2026.

Once the ADA work is completed, crews will resurface Route 13 between Gallatin and Hamilton.

Traffic Impacts: Route 13 will be narrowed to one lane. Access to city street and business entrances along Route 13 will be impacted and may be closed. MoDOT will work with business owners to minimize impacts by working on one entrance at a time at any given location.

All work is anticipated to be completed by June 2026.

As a part of this project, crews will also be resurfacing Route 69 in Clinton County. Scheduling details will be shared after the completion of work on Route 13.
