MoDOT: Christian County Route CC Intersection Improvements Project In Nixa,

Focus of Public Meeting Thursday, March 12

Nixa, Christian County – Those interested in a project to build a roundabout at Christian County Route CC, North Main Street, and West Cedar Street in Nixa are invited to a public meeting on Thursday, March 12, to discuss traffic impacts during construction and project information, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The come-and-go style meeting will be held 4:30 – 6 p.m., Thursday, March 12, at the Nixa Police Department Training Room, 715 W. Center Circle, Nixa. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come at any time between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about the project and ask questions.

MoDOT is committed to providing access to this event for all participants. This informational meeting marks the third in a series of public meetings held to engage the community on this project. Previous opportunities for public input were offered in July 2023 and September 2024.

Project Summary:

  • Build a roundabout at Christian County Route CC, North Main Street & West Cedar Street in Nixa to improve safety and traffic flow
  • Installing storm sewer
  • Roundabout improvements will tie into the City of Nixa’s Main Street project
  • Pedestrian facilities are part of the intersection

Traffic Impacts:

  • Intersection closures will be in place during construction
  • Signed detour includes: Route 160, Route 14, and Route 65
  • Access to businesses will be provided at all times
  • Drivers urged to use alternate routes during construction to avoid the work zone
  • Electronic message boards and news releases will warn the public of closures
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the closure

Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2026.

Contractor: KCI Construction Co, Springfield

The estimated project cost is $5.75 million.

The project is scheduled for completion on December 2, 2026.
