HANNIBAL – On March 11, the Missouri Department of Transportation will permanently close the commuter parking lot located at the Missouri Route 47/Interstate 70 interchange between the North Service Road and westbound I-70 on-ramp at Warrenton in Warren County. Motorists who regularly use this lot are encouraged to make alternate parking arrangements prior to the closure date. The closure is necessary to accommodate future work on the interchange as part of the Improve I-70: Warrenton to Wentzville project.
Signs and message boards will be placed near the commuter parking lot to alert motorists of the upcoming closure.
This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is tentatively set to take place 2025-2028.
Missouri’s FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
