Where: Nighttime Lane Closures on Chestnut Expressway between Haseltine Road and Glenstone Avenue in Springfield
When: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. beginning March 1 until June 30
What: Contractor crews will perform pavement repairs and resurface the road. This is part of the Resurface and Upgrade Sidewalks on Various Routes in Greene & Christian County Project.
Traffic Impacts:
- Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are performing pavement repair or placing a new asphalt surface
- Work will be done during nighttime hours
- Drivers will encounter flaggers where crews are working
- Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
- No signed detour. Drivers may need to seek alternate routes to get to their destinations.
- Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers approaching the work zone
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closures/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
Blevins Asphalt Construction Co, Inc., Mt. Vernon is doing the work for a low bid amount of $9.4 million.
The project is to be completed by June 30, 2026.
