LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing maintenance work throughout the Kansas City region from Feb. 17 until Feb. 20. No work is scheduled on Mon., Feb. 16 due to the holiday. All work is weather permitting.
CLAY COUNTY
Interstate 435 southbound ramp to Interstate 35 southbound and U.S. Highway 69: right lane of the ramp closed on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from approximately 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., for bridge work and brush cutting.
CLAY COUNTY & JACKSON COUNTY
Missouri Highway 9 bridge over the Missouri River (Heart of America Bridge): bike/pedestrian path closed on Thursday, Feb. 19, from approximately 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., for drain cleaning.
JACKSON COUTNY
Interstate 35 northbound and southbound between 17th St. and 21st St.: various lane closures on Tuesday, Feb. 17 and Wednesday, Feb. 17, from approximately 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for barrier wall repair. Missouri Highway 291 northbound at Mulberry St.: right lane closed from Tuesday., Feb. 17 until Thursday., Feb. 19, from approximately 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily, for drainage work.
U.S. Highway 71 southbound ramp to 22nd St.: right turn closed from ramp to 22nd St. westbound on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from approximately 7 a.m. until 10 a.m., for median repairs.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY
Missouri Highway 23 between U.S. Highway 24 and Johnson County line: flagging operations from Tuesday, Feb. 17 until Wednesday, Feb. 18, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for shoulder repair work.
MO-23 between 14th St. & 15th St.: flagging operation on Thursday, Feb. 19 and Friday, Feb. 20, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for drainage work.
RAY COUNTY
Route C between 216th St. and end of state maintenance: flagging operations on Tuesday, Feb. 17 and Wednesday, Feb. 18, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., for brush removal.
Route Y between Missouri Highway 10 and Crystal Dr., flagging operations on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., for brush cutting.
Route E between Route PP and 224th St.: flagging operations from Wednesday, Feb. 18 until Friday, Feb. 20, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for brush removal.
Route Y at Crystal Dr.: flagging operations on Thursday, Feb. 19, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., for culvert replacement work.
MoDOT maintenance crews often perform other tasks throughout the work week such as pothole patching, litter pick-up, snow plowing, brush cutting, and other operations that are not included above as they pose limited impacts to traffic.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
