St. Louis Work Zones Feb. 12-18

ST. LOUIS – Drivers heading from Illinois into St. Louis overnight should be aware of ramp closures that could impact them Thursday.

Crews will close the ramp from westbound I-64 onto westbound I-44/southbound I-55 at the bridge over the Mississippi River (Poplar Street Bridge) (Exit 40B) for pavement repairs Thursday, February 12 from 7:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.

The ramp from WB I-64 to Walnut Street, the ramp from Spruce to WB I-44 and SB I-55 and one right lane on WB I-44/SB I-55 from Washington to Park will be closed during that time as well. The ramp to eastbound I-44 and westbound I-70 will remain open.

To detour around the closure, drivers can head north on EB I-44 to Washington Ave. (Exit 292), take the U-turn ramp there and continue southbound on I-55.

In North St. Louis County, MoDOT crews will close the Route D (Page Ave.) and Route 67 (Lindbergh Blvd.) interchange from Friday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. through Monday, Feb. 16 at 5 a.m. to demolish the westbound side of the Route D bridge (over Route 67).

During the closure, temporary signals will assist in controlling Route D and Route 67 traffic on the ramps to Route 67. Northbound and southbound Route 67 traffic will be diverted up and over temporary bypasses.

Westbound Route D drivers will detour to northbound Route 67 to Midland Ave. to southbound Route 67 and back to westbound Route D. Eastbound Route D drivers will detour to southbound Route 67 to Olive Blvd. to northbound Route 67 and back to eastbound Route D.

Detours will be in place until late September.  When traffic reopens at 5 a.m. on Monday, motorists will drive on the new eastbound side of the Route D bridge with two lanes of traffic going westbound and two lanes going eastbound.  One lane of northbound and southbound Route 67 will be closed.
