SIKESTON - The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for Southeast District projects during its regular meeting on June 2. Awarded contracts included pavement improvements, lighting improvements and bridge improvements.
Projects awarded include:
- A $685,596 contract was awarded to Apex Paving Co., Cape Girardeau, Mo., for improvements to Route 105 in Mississippi County. The project includes a thin-lift overlay from Interstate 57 to east of Route BB near East Prairie.
- A $695,334 contract was awarded to Fronabarger Concreters, Inc., Oak Ridge, Mo., for improvements to Route 60 in Butler County. The project includes intersection improvements, paving and signal installation at the Route W intersection near Poplar Bluff.
- A $4,333,380 contract was awarded to R.L. Persons Construction Inc., Poplar Bluff, Mo., for improvements to Interstate 55 in Scott County. The project includes grading, paving, signal installation at the I-55 and Route AB interchange and construction of an outer road from Route K to Route AB near Scott City. Additionally, a new bridge will be constructed over Ramsey Creek for the new outer road.
- A $100,059 contract was awarded to Freedom Fence, LLC, Belgrade, Mo., for improvements to Interstate 55 and Interstate 57 in Cape Girardeau, Jefferson, Mississippi, Perry, Scott and Ste. Genevieve Counties. The project includes on-call guardrail repair on I-55 from Route 67 to I-57 and on I-57 from I-55 to the Mississippi River.
- A $93,676 contract was awarded to Freedom Fence, LLC, Belgrade, Mo., for improvements to Interstate 55 and Interstate 155 in New Madrid and Pemiscot Counties. The project includes on-call guardrail repair on I-55 from I-57 to the Arkansas state line and on I-155 from I-55 to the Mississippi River.
- An $83,048 contract was awarded to Freedom Fence, LLC, Belgrade, Mo., for improvements to Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau and Scott Counties. The project includes on-call guard cable repair on I-55 from Route E to Interstate 57 near Cape Girardeau.
- A $318,888 contract was awarded to K and K Electric Company, Cape Girardeau, Mo., for improvements to Interstate 55 in Ste. Genevieve County. The project includes installing intersection lighting at four locations between Route DD and Route Z near Bloomsdale.
- An $851,831 contract was awarded to A.E. Simpson Construction Inc., Scott City, Mo., for improvements to Route NN in Dunklin County. The project includes a thin-lift overlay from Route 84 to the Arkansas state line near Gobler.
- A $377,365 contract was awarded to Thomas Industrial Coatings, Inc., Pevely, Mo., for improvements to recently replaced bridges in Butler, Cape Girardeau, St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve Counties. The project includes painting the steel beams on four Safe and Sound bridges that recently received deck replacements. Bridges to be painted include: Route 177 bridge over Indian Creek in Cape Girardeau County, Route N bridge over Saline Creek in Ste. Genevieve County, Route O bridge over Koen Creek in St. Francois County and Route TT bridge over Ten Mile Creek in Butler County.
