MoDOT to close Interstate 70 lanes near Route Z for concrete pavement repairs Dec. 22-23

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – Motorists traveling on eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 near Route Z (near mile marker 209) should be aware of evening concrete pavement repairs Monday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 23. All work is weather permitting.

Crews will close one eastbound I-70 lane just east of the Route Z bridge Monday, Dec. 22 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

On Tuesday, Dec. 23, crews will close one westbound I-70 lane just west of the Route Z bridge from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. During this closure, the left lane of eastbound I-70 temporarily closes from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. to allow for concrete trucks in the work zone.

This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is tentatively set to take place 2025-2028.

Missouri’s FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
