Andrew County northbound I-229/U.S. Route 71 to close under I-29 beginning Thursday

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close northbound Interstate 229/U.S. Route 71 below I-29 and the ramp from southbound I-29 to northbound U.S. Route 71 (Exit 56A) beginning Thursday, Dec. 18, to replace a section of concrete.

Traffic impacts: The following will be closed beginning at 8 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, through 9 a.m., Friday, Dec. 19.

  • Northbound Interstate 229/U.S. Route 71/U.S. Route 59 below I-29.
  • The ramp from southbound I-29 to northbound I-229/U.S. Route 71/U.S. Route 59 (Exit 56A).

Travelers will need to use an alternate route during the closure. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
