Update: Caldwell County Route D Shoal Creek Bridge opening delayed

St. Joseph, Mo. – Cale Seymour Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, began a bridge replacement project on the Caldwell County Route D Bridge over Shoal Creek in March 2025. The bridge was expected to reopen by November 2025, but due to several contractor schedule and weather delays it is now planned to reopen in March 2026.

Traffic Impacts: The bridge will remain closed throughout the duration of the project, and motorists will need to continue to use an alternate route.
