Lane and ramp closures along I-29 in Clay & Platte Counties for guardrail operations, NOW -Mar. 1

CLAY AND PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing guardrail replacement resulting in various traffic modifications, on Interstate 29 from just south of Mexico City Ave. to U.S. 69. This project will take place over the winter months and motorists may experience delays through March 1. Traffic impacts will be shared as work is scheduled. All work is weather permitting.

The following locations will experience intermittent lane and ramp closures NOW – March 1, Mon. – Fri.  

  • Overnight intermittent ramp closures for guardrail replacement 7:30 PM until 6:00 AM:
    • SB U.S. 169 to NB I-29, Fri. Dec. 12 & Mon. Dec. 15
  • Overnight intermittent lane closures for guardrail replacement 7:30 AM until 6:00 AM:
    • U.S. 169 to I-635 right lane closure, Wed., Dec. 17 until Frid., Dec. 19
  • Flagging operation for guardrail replacement:
    • Roadridge Rd. near 72nd St. (outer road for I-29), 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Dec. 16
    • SB U.S. 169 to NB I-29 ramp, 7:30 PM until 6:00 AM, Dec.16

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
