JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – To lessen the impact on the local community, the planned culvert replacement on Westview Drive in Versailles has been postponed.
Construction crews, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, originally planned to begin installing a larger culvert at the entrance of Westview Drive from Missouri Route 5 on Thursday, Dec. 11. However, crews have postponed this work to a yet-to-be-determined date.
All work is weather-permitting and subject to change.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $5,041,329.32 contract to S & A Equipment & Builders, LLC for the project that includes installing a roundabout at the junction of Route 5 and Route 52, expanding Route 52 to three lanes (providing one lane of travel in each direction with a shared center turn lane), and replacing existing culverts with larger structures to address flooding concerns. The project is expected to be completed in early 2026.
