JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A major milestone will be reached soon on the rehabilitation of the Missouri Route 8 bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad in Washington County, south of Potosi. S & A Equipment & Builders, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, began the bridge rehabilitation project on March 3, 2025. The first half of the bridge has been rehabilitated, and in mid-November, the contractor plans to shift traffic to allow them to work on the other half of the bridge. When the exact timing of the traffic shift is determined, an update will be provided. Temporary signals will remain in place to direct traffic through the newly configured work zone.
While the project was expected to be complete in September 2025, there have been several delays, and construction is expected to continue into the winter months.
