Barton County – Contractor crews are set to CLOSE the U.S. Route160 bridge over North Fork Spring River north of Golden City Monday-Wednesday, September 29-October 1 to resurface and repair the bridge, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Traffic Impacts:
- Route 160 CLOSED over North Fork Spring River between Barton County Route VV and Southeast 45th Road beginning at 6 a.m., Monday, September 29 and reopening to traffic on Wednesday, October 1
- Drivers will have access to driveways and entrances on either side of the bridge, but will not be able to travel over the bridge
- No signed detours
- Drivers should seek alternate routes
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the closure
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
The bridge was built in 1928. Approximately 1,200 vehicles cross the bridge daily.
This work is part of a larger project to resurface and improve sections of Route 160 and Missouri Route 97 in Barton, Dade and Lawrence counties. For more information, go to the project website here.
