MoDOT to shift southbound I-55 traffic onto new pavement from McNutt to U.S. 67 on September 19

 

JEFFERSON COUNTY- Drivers should be aware that starting Friday, September 18, at 8 p.m., MoDOT will shift southbound I-55 traffic onto the newly constructed southbound pavement.

Starting at 8 p.m. Friday, crews will close the following:

  • one southbound I-55 lane near McNutt Street
  • southbound I-55 exit and entrance ramps at Route A
  • southbound I-55 exit to U.S. Route 67

The southbound I-55 ramps at Route A and US 67 will reopen by 5:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20.

Southbound I-55 traffic will be fully switched onto the new pavement by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22. All detours will be signed.

By early October, northbound I-55 traffic will move onto the median pavement to allow for demolition of the northbound I-55 bridges over US 67, 3rd Street, and Central Avenue. All work is weather permitting.
