Signal cabinet upgrade planned in Columbia

Signals will be off overnight with stop signs in place

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A signal cabinet upgrade will require the traffic signals at the intersection of Missouri Routes 740 and 163 (Stadium Boulevard and Providence Road) to be turned off for several hours next week.

Beginning at midnight on Thursday, Sept. 25, the signals at Stadium and Providence will be turned off and stop signs will be in place for all directions. Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will replace the signal cabinet at the intersection and plan to have it operational by 6 a.m. that same day.

All lanes are expected to remain open, but motorists should remain alert for their own safety and for the safety of crews working close to traffic.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
