Buchanan County U.S. Route 36 scrub seal project to resume Sept. 17

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Vance Brothers, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, is scheduled to resume a scrub seal project on U.S. Route 36 in Buchanan County on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Crews will scrub seal Route 36 between Route AC and Interstate 229, beginning in the westbound passing lanes (left lane), then the driving lane (right lane). Crews will then return to complete the ramps along the same section of Route 36.

Traffic Impacts: Crews will narrow the roadway to one lane. Ramps will be short-term temporary closures.

Project schedule updates will be provided on the Traveler Information Map (http://traveler.modot.org/map/) and on the Planned Roadwork for Northwest Missouri press release sent out each Friday afternoon. All work is scheduled to be completed by October 2025.
