SIKESTON—Eastbound Route 72 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane as contractor crews perform concrete pavement repairs.
This section of roadway is located from Lee Avenue to Route 25 in Jackson, Missouri.
Weather permitting, work will take place overnight during two consecutive weekends, including:
- 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 through 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15
- 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 through 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22
The repairs will be completed in the outside eastbound driving lane. The lane closure will remain in place around the clock to allow the concrete to cure, and motorists should anticipate an active work zone during the overnight hours.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
