Signal Work Scheduled on MO 47 in Warrenton

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, the week of September 15, contractor crews will begin work to relocate the cabinet for a signal light in Warren County at the intersection of Missouri Route 47 and the eastbound off-ramp of Interstate 70 in Warrenton. Work will include removing the existing signal cabinet currently located in the island at the eastbound I-70 off-ramp terminal and relocating it further off the ramp to the southwest quadrant of the interchange. Most work will occur during daytime hours with the exception of the cabinet change.

Motorists can expect minimal traffic impacts during the course of work. A short-term nighttime signal outage will be necessary to splice the existing wiring for the new signal cabinet. The signal lights will be on red flash during the outage at which time motorists should treat this intersection as a four-way stop. A 10-ft width restriction will be place on Missouri Route 47 where crews are actively working. Signs on I-70 will be used to notify the public of traffic impacts.

Meyer Electric Company, Inc. was awarded the contract earlier this year in the amount of $42,125. This project is anticipated to be completed in approximately one week. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
