ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Sullivan County Route T East Locust Creek Bridge, south of Milan, is now closed. A routine inspection this morning identified bridge deck and structure deterioration, prompting the Missouri Department of Transportation to close the bridge to all traffic today, Monday, Aug. 25.
The East Locust Creek Bridge is scheduled to be replaced as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle design-build project. The Capital-Horner & Shifrin team is currently scheduled to begin the replacement project in spring of 2026.
Traffic Impacts: Route T is now closed at the bridge. Motorists will need to utilize an alternate route until the bridge can be replaced and reopened.
