JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Crews working on a resurfacing project on U.S. Route 54 in Miller County will close the ramps, one at a time, at the Missouri Route 87 interchange in Eldon tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 22, between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Crews will resurface westbound first, which will close the westbound on-ramp, then the westbound off-ramp. They will then switch to the eastbound side, closing the eastbound on-ramp, then the eastbound off-ramp. A message board is in place to alert motorists to use an alternate route during the closures.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $12,451,800 contract to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC during their November 2024 meeting, to resurface more than 22 miles of U.S. Route 54 from the Cole County line to Missouri Route 242 in Lake Ozark. The project also includes the installation of median guard cable. The contractor expects to have all work complete on or before Dec. 1, 2025.
