ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The U.S. Route 59 bridge over Interstate 29 north of Craig (mile marker 93.4) is now open following a deck replacement project. Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, reopened the bridge on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
The bridge on Route 59 has been closed since June 2.
Two other bridges are also included in this project -- the Rock Creek Bridge on Atchison County Route F and the Mill Creek Bridge on Holt County Route T. For more information about this project, visit: https://www.modot.org/projects/missouri-route-59-bridge-rehabilitation-atchison-and-holt.
All work is expected to be completed by December 2025.
