MoDOT to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony For New MO 47 / U.S. 61 Diverging Diamond Interchange at Troy

HANNIBAL - The public is invited to help celebrate the completion of the new bridge replacement project on Missouri Route 47 over U.S. Route 61 and area improvements, including the diverging diamond interchange.  The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 26, at 10:30 a.m. at 12 Frenchman Bluff Road, Troy, MO.

“This is the first DDI constructed within MoDOT’s Northeast District.  This project includes several upgrades within the immediate area designed to improve traffic flow.  The new diverging diamond design of the interchange also features improved safety for pedestrians and cyclists with a dedicated shared-use path and signalized crosswalks.  The area improvements to the transportation system will serve the needs of the community well into the future,” stated Area Engineer Jeff Niemeyer.

Questions regarding the ceremony may be directed to the Northeast District Communications Manager Gerri Jeffries at gerri.jeffries@modot.mo.gov.
